Important Notice Regarding Carbon Monoxide Alarms !
The State of Massachusetts mandates that all residences, regardless of size (i.e. single family, condo building),install Carbon Monoxide alarms by March 31st, 2006.
If a residence (owner of a residence) opts to have "hardwire" CO detectors (verses battery units) they will have until January 1st, 2007 (changed from March 31st, 2006). If this option is used they MUST notify the AHJ (Head Fire Department ) in writing of this intention no later than May 15th, 2006. In essence this option is similar to the "alternative option" in regards to added time.
SPECIAL NOTE: CARBON MONOXIDE ALARMS NEED TO BE REPLACED EVERY FIVE YEARS. IF YOU HAVE AN EXISTING CARBON MONOXIDE ALARM THAT IS OLDER THAN 5 YEARS OLD YOU MUST REPLACE THE UNIT. IF ULTRAGUARD INSTALLED OR SERVICED A UNIT YOU BELIEVE IS 5 YEARS OR OLDER YOU SHOULD CONTACT US TO ARRANGE FOR REPLACEMENT. THERE IS SPECIAL PRICING SETUP FOR REPLACEMENT.
